3 Lady Indians sign sports scholarships

Three seniors from the Stephens County Lady Indians Softball team, which finished as State Runner-Up this past season, signed sports scholarships last week to play softball in college.

Ivey Andrews, daughter of Chad and Christy Andrews signed to play softball at Georgia Military Jr. College in Milledgeville.

Ivey was a 4-year starter for the Lady Indians as an outfielder.

She plans to pursue a nursing career.

Dunson is pictured with family as she signs her sports scholarship for Young Harris College.

She said when she visited the Jr. College, she felt that was where she needed to be.

Alanna Dunson, daughter of Allen and Amy Dunson, signed last week to play at Young Harris College.

Alanna was a 4-year starter, mainly at third base.

She plans to major in biology.  

Fuller is pictured with family as she signs her sports scholarship for Truett-McConnell College.

Katarina Fuller, daughter of Teresa and Brian Fuller, signed last week to play at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland.

Katarina was a 4-year starter in the outfield and designated hitter.

She plans to study early childhood education.

Truett-McConnell’s girls head softball coach is Jenni Shepard who is also a former Stephens County Lady Indian. Shepard has held that position for 12 years.
