3 Indians sign scholarships for athletic college careers

Two Stephens County soccer players and a football player have signed scholarships to continue their athletic careers in college.

Erin Carter, daughter of Allison and Bill Hayford and Greg and Becky Carter will play soccer at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.

She is a four-year starter for the Lady Indians soccer team and plans to major in vet science.

Chandler Jarrell, son of Melissa Jarrell and Tim Jarrell, will also be attending Shorter College.

He is a three-year starter for the Indians as center-back and forward.

He plans to major in political science.

He says, at first, he was not sure he wanted to play college soccer.

Pictured is Aaron Butts with family as he signs with Brevard College

Aaron Butts, son of Gary and Juliana Butts, will be attending Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina, this fall to play football.

He plans to major in early childhood education.

Aaron started all 10 games at offensive guard for the Indians football team this past season.
