3 arrested, 1 in hiding after neighbors complain

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, on Aug. 20, deputies with his office had received a number of complaints regarding a four wheeler being used recklessly throughout the day and night.

Shirley said, “because of various citizens’ concerns with the four wheelers driving recklessly without helmets, he increased the patrol in the area.”

While on patrol, a deputy observed a Chevrolet Blazer, with three males standing beside it and one person in the driver’s seat.

The deputy asked for their identification and why the vehicle was partially in the roadway.

They said someone had left to get gas for a four wheeler.

The driver, Coby Stancil, returned with a suspended license and was placed under arrest. At this point during the investigation another vehicle approached at a high rate of speed.

Shirley stated “his deputy was able to stop this vehicle and identified the driver as Dustin Addison, who had a suspended driver’s license”. Addison was placed under arrest.

Upon returning to the original vehicle, one person, who had identified himself as Nathan Henderson, later identified as Jonathan Sellers, had fled the area on foot.

Other deputies arrived to assist in the search.

While searching for the person who left the scene, deputies observed a motorcycle approaching with two individuals who were not wearing helmets.

This vehicle was also stopped and the driver was identified as being Nathan Henderson, and the other individual who left the scene was charged with giving a false name.

After checking the driver’s license status for Henderson, he was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license as well.

Sheriff Shirley said “his deputies noticed the ignition for the motorcycle had been removed and believed it may possibly be stolen.”

Coby Stancil, 20, of Toccoa was charged with driving with suspended license, possession of marijuana and crossing a county guard line with contraband.

Dustin Addison, 31, Of Toccoa, was charged with an outstanding felony probation warrant.

Nathan Henderson, 33, of Toccoa was charged with driving with suspended license, operating a vehicle with no registration, no vehicle insurance, and operating a motorcycle without a helmet.

Warrants have been issued for Jonathan Sellers.

Sheriff Shirley adds “the incident is still under investigation and further criminal charges may be issued.”
