2nd Annual Toast of Toccoa Coming Saturday

Toccoa Main Street is gearing up for its second annual Toast of Toccoa event this weekend.

Toast of Toccoa happens this Saturday from noon to 5p on Doyle Street and replaces Taste of Toccoa, which was held annually for about 10 years in the downtown area.

Main Street Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby says they are hoping for another successful event.

“We have partnered with the Currahee Artists Guild and we will have close to 30 artists who will be displaying and selling their artwork,” Crosby said. “We will also have wine tasting with four wine tasting booths. And we also have two beer trailers.”

Crosby noted the wine vendors come from around the Northeast Georgia region, including here in Stephens County.

“We’ve got Currahee Vineyards, Cartecay Vineyards from Ellijay, Georgia, Sweet Acre Farms in Alto, and Tiger Mountain Vineyards from Tiger, Georgia,” she said. “So we will have four very good, regional, very well-known vineyards that will be there. You can also purchase bottles of wine from them of course.”

Additionally, Toast of Toccoa will feature craft beers fron various breweries such as, Creature Comforts Brewing Company in Athens, Currahee Brewing Company from Franklin, North Carolina.

Also, all of the downtown shops and restaurants will be open and seven different food booths will be available to go with your beer or wine.

Plus, there will also be a cruise-in for car enthusiasts.

Entertainment will be on two stages this year with Nick and the Grooves and the Grassland String Band performing live.

Last year, over 4,000 people attended the first Toast of Toccoa and Crosby expects an even better response this year.

“Should be a full day. Lots of things for people to see and do. One of the things we heard last year from those who came was it was nice to just be able to stroll around, look at the art, and enjoy conversation. We will have two covered tents for people to sit and enjoy the food and their drinks and listen to the entertainment.”

Again Toast of Toccoa takes place Saturday from noon to 5p on Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa.
