2nd annual C.A.S.T. for Kids Lake Hartwell event is tomorrow

As a reminder, C.A.S.T. for Kids Lake Hartwell will be hosting its 2nd annual event for special needs children, ages 6-18, in Stephens and surrounding counties.

On Saturday, August 27, join C.A.S.T. for Kids Lake Hartwell for a joyful day of fishing and boating for kids with special needs, their families, and community volunteers.

The event will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Participants must pre-register and should be between the ages of 6 and 18.

You can pre-register at castforkids.org/event/lakehartwell.

To ensure this event is a success, C.A.S.T. for Kids is looking for volunteers to help during the event.

Experienced boaters with a boat to help one child plus a parent or guardian, teach them proper fishing techniques, and help them land their first catch, are needed.

Also, onshore volunteers are needed to assist with all aspects of event setup and facilitation.

If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Event Coordinator Joe Richardson at 404-275-8303 or Registration Coordinator Rhonda Davis at 706-599-2272.

Lunch will be provided for participants, their families, and all volunteers.

Again, on Saturday, August 27, join C.A.S.T. for Kids Lake Hartwell for a day of fishing and boating for kids with special needs.

Boat launch is at Gum Branch Boat Ramp in Hartwell.
