2 Toccoa All-Star teams continue play in state tournaments

Two out of the three Toccoa Little League All-Star teams, that qualified for state tournaments, are still alive after weekend play.

On Saturday, the Toccoa 9 & 10 softball team lost to Oconee County, 11 to 3, at their tournament in Cartersville at the Bartow Recreation Department.

Oconee led 7 to 0 after 2 ½ innings and Toccoa could not come back.

Toccoa did not have to play Sunday, but will be back in action in an elimination game today at 12 noon against Bartow County.

Toccoa’s 10 & 11 Baseball team lost Saturday in Cartersville in their first round game, 13 to 3, in a game that had a 2-hour rain delay.

On Sunday, Toccoa was eliminated from the state tournament in a close loss to Athens.  Athens led 4 to 1 going to the bottom of the 5th inning when Toccoa pushed 2 runs across, but came up short, 4 to 3.

The Toccoa 9 & 10 Baseball team remains alive in their tournament in Dudley.

After losing Saturday to Cartersville in the opening round, 5 to 0, Toccoa came back strong Sunday afternoon with a 6 to 2 win over Chatham County.

Toccoa plays today in another elimination bracket game at 2:30 when they take on Peachtree City.
