The victim has been identified as Eric David Beasley of Canton Georgia.
It happened about 1:50p Sunday afternoon, according to Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland. Not in Anderson, SC as was earlier reported.

“Due to the impact of the two boats, Beasley was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were transported from the other vessel with non-life-threatening injuries and taken to Anderson Memorial,” DNR Law Enforcement officer Craig Fulghum told WLHR News
Fulghum said Beasley would have turned 18 in June.
Fulghum said one boat was a bass boat and the other was a cabin cruiser-type vessel. Fulghum said how the boating accident happened is still being investigated.
Fulghum said the investigation is being turned over to the DNR’s Critical Incident Reconstruction Team.
“They will reconstruct the accident to determine how it happened,” he said. “They investigate any time a fatality is involved.”
