1 arrested while 1 continues to evade arrest

A Toccoa woman is behind bars after Deputies with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve arrest warrants to a Toccoa man at her residents. The man continues to evade arrest.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, Investigators with his office traveled to 22 Pineview Road in an attempt to serve a State Probation/Parole arrest warrant on James Jody Loudermilk, who had been living at the residence.

Before Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, a surveillance team was in place, surrounding the home. Deputies and investigators approached the front door and announced their presence.

Shirley said while law enforcement were at the front door, Toni Roxanne Murray, of the same residence ran out of the back door in an apparent attempt to flea the scene; however, she didn’t make it far before an investigator behind the house was able to stop her.
Shirley said Murray was known by investigators and she knew of an active fourth amendment waiver as part of a bond at the Stephens County Jail.

During an interview with Murray investigators asked her where Loudermilk was; she told investigators that he had just left approximately 10 minutes prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Shirley told WNEG News that based on the information his investigators had, along with the fourth amendment waiver, they checked the residence to ensure that Loudermilk was not there.

During this check, investigators located suspected methamphetamine in plain view in the living room. After discovering the illegal drugs, investigators began a more in-depth search of the home.
Shirley said during the search approximately 9 1/2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine was recovered in multiple locations throughout the residence, as well as packaging material and digital scales.
Murray, 37 of Toccoa was arrested and charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine; she is currently being held at the Stephens County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

Warrants were also issued for James Jody Loudermilk, 37, of Toccoa for trafficking methamphetamine. He is also be sought after for the Probation/Parole warrant.
