Young Harris man arrested by SCSO

The Stephens County Sheriff’s office recently arrested a Young Harris man.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, Dylan Carmichael, age 26, was arrested during a traffic stop.

Shirley says, during the stop, K-9 Reba gave a positive alert, which prompted his deputy to search the suspect vehicle.

During the search, the deputy located 25.6 grams of illegal mushrooms, 12.2 grams of marijuana, and various candy gummies containing THC.

Additionally, the deputy located a 380 semi-automatic handgun and $1,350 in cash.

Carmichael is charged with two counts of possession of a schedule I narcotic, possession of a schedule II narcotic, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, less than one ounce of marijuana, and affixing material that reduce or increase light.

Bond was set at $40,000.
