Update on Paris Paralympic Results for Toccoa Native Coan

McKenzie Coan put in a strong performance yesterday in her second event of this year’s Paralympic Games in Paris after securing a silver medal in the 400m Freestyle (S7), finishing within 2 seconds of the leader and claiming 5th place. First place finisher, China’s Yuyan Jiang set a new World Record with 1:09:68, and American swimmer Morgan Stickney, who took the Gold to Coan’s silver in the 400 m Freestyle, took silver with a time of 1:10:11. Italian Giulia Terzi took the bronze, and American Ellie Marks finished 4th with 1:11.32, just a breath ahead of Coan’s 1:11.58.

Coan will continue her 2024 program with the women’s 50-meter freestyle (S8) today (Sept. 5) and the women’s 50-meter butterfly (S7) Saturday.
