TPD charge Toccoa man with armed robbery

A Toccoa man, formerly of Columbus, was arrested after an armed robbery.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, the incident occurred on November 12, after a Toccoa Police Officer was approached outside the Police Department by a female who said she had been robbed at gunpoint on Skyview Lane.

The female said she had picked up two male acquaintances and given them a ride to Wal-Mart and then to 94 or 95 Skyview Lane.

Both males exited the vehicle. One went into the apartment while the other male came around to the driver’s side, put a gun to the woman’s neck and demanded all her money.

When she refused, the suspect aimed the gun at her child in the back seat.

The victim immediately gave the suspect $636.00, before the he ran off towards Ruby Street.

Mize says Investigators were able to interview the victim of the robbery and obtain the names of the suspects.

Investigators and Officers located some of the cash that had been stolen along with the weapon involved, a Glock 19 9mm pistol.

On November 13, Officers located the suspect known as “Quan” at 260 Stephens Drive.

18-year-old Dequondre Biggers, originally from Columbus Georgia was arrested at the scene.

Biggers was charged with Armed Robbery, 2 counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children, and carrying a weapon during the commission of a crime.
