TPD asking for public’s help in locating suspect responsible for property damage at three businesses

The Toccoa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the person or persons responsible for damages at several local businesses.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, between December 24 and December 26, Adam’s Building Supply, Brother John’s Subs, and First Franklin Financial –all on Big A Road, were damaged by either a pellet or BB gun.

“We had Adam’s Building Supply, right there on Big A Road, with the front windows out, and we also had Brother John’s Subs, and both of those were total glass breakage,” Mize said. “Then we had First Franklin, next to Brother John’s, and it cracked their window.”

As WNEG News previously reported, a similar incident occurred on Monday in Habersham County, after someone fired upon and struck several moving vehicles with a pellet or BB gun.

Mize says the two incidents could be related; however, at this point in the investigation it’s too early to tell.

He says that in the Toccoa incidents, it appears that the suspects are riding around shooting, rather than entering the businesses.

“No one is going in, they’re just riding around, shooting,” he said. “We’ve reviewed video in both the areas where ours happened, and there’s no outside videos showing anything. And the internal videos shows no entry.”

As the Toccoa Police Department continues its investigation, Mize encourages the public to come forward with any information that they may have regarding the incidents.

If you have any information regarding this incident you can contact the Toccoa Police Department by calling 706-282-3244.
