TCSG announces new Cloud Academy

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has announced an innovative program designed to prepare more Georgians with the modern technology skills necessary for careers utilizing cloud technologies.

The Cloud Academy will address the state’s growing need for workers with cloud computing skills while developing a steady pipeline of talent for Georgia businesses.

The Cloud Academy will provide students with programs designed to efficiently prepare them for a variety of careers in the field of cloud computing.

Additionally, the colleges will provide cloud computing specialization training for incumbent workers, allowing for rapid delivery and customization to a specific business or industry’s needs.

Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Greg Dozier says the use of cloud-based technologies is growing rapidly in Georgia, which means there is greater demand for a workforce skilled in this area.

He says “we are excited to launch the Cloud Academy because it will provide students and existing information technology workers with the most up-to-date training available to ensure success in this growing field.”

Students who earn a credential will be prepared for a variety of careers in the field of cloud computing, including Cloud Support Associate, Network Technician, Systems Analyst, Technical Sales Executive, Web Development Engineer, Applications Developer, Cloud Support Engineer, and Network Design Analyst.

The first phase of The Cloud Academy began on February 3 and will consist of instructor training.

The Academy will officially roll-out in the spring of 2020 at Gwinnett Technical College and Columbus Technical College.
