TCC makes variance appointments

The Toccoa City Commission met earlier this week for its regular scheduled meeting.

During which, the commission made several appointments to fill seats that were set to expire at the end of the year.

According to City Manager Billy Morse, the boards that required appointments include the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority, the Municipal Court Judge, the Board of Ethics Panel, and the Airport Authority.

Morse says for the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority, Isaac White’s seat was set to expire.

Commissioner Jeanette Jamieson recommended White be reappointed to another 5-year term.

Morse then said that Municipal Court Judge Bob Sneed’s term would expire, and the commission voted to reappoint him to another 2-year term.

Morse explained that the Board of Ethics Panel had seats expiring in all five post.

Post 1: Thurston Estes; Post 2: Angie Garland; Post 3: Gordon Telford; Post 4: Peggy Snyder; and Post 5: Woody Blassingame.

The commissioners voted to reappoint all five current members.

Lastly, Chris Irvin was reappointed to the Airport Authority for another 3-year term.

All appointments were approved 4-0.
