Sports Briefs: Indians Football Scrimmage, TLL Tournament

The Stephens County Indians football team will conclude 2 weeks of spring practice with a scrimmage game tonight at North Hall High School.  Game time will be 7 o’clock tonight, and admission will be $5.

Spring practice allows the players to get some practice in full pads.  Indian Head Coach Wesley Tankersley says the team has worked hard:

The Stephens County Indians will open up the regular season on Friday, August 16th, when they host Habersham Central.  The Indians will be competing in Region 8-AA next season, and their first region game will be against Franklin County in Carnesville on September 27th.  The regular season will end on Friday, November 1st, at East Jackson.  You can see the complete schedule on our website or Facebook page.

 

In other sports news, details for the Little League Tournament games have been released. 


As previously reported by WNEG Sports, Toccoa Little League will host three Georgia District 7 tournaments beginning Monday.  Rookie and Sandlot Baseball as well as the Sandlot Softball tournaments will all start Monday at Doyle Street Park and Toccoa’s 6 & 7 Coach-Pitch All Stars will begin their tournament Friday, May 24th, at Elbert County.  In Sandlot Baseball, it will be Toccoa vs Franklin Co Monday at 7, Sandlot Softball will also be Toccoa vs Franklin Co Monday at 7. In Rookie Baseball, it will be Toccoa vs Oglethorpe Co Monday at 6, and in Coach Pitch Baseball, it will be Toccoa vs Oglethorpe Co Friday, May 24, at 6 p.m. at Elbert County Little League
