Softball: Lady Indians Blank West Hall Wednesday

The Stephens County Lady Indians trounced West Hall 9 to 0 Wednesday night, continuing their season-starting winning streak, and standing at 4-0.

Nyleigh Hutto drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Stephens County Varsity Indians past West Hall. Hutto singled in the fourth, scoring two, hit a solo home run to right field in the first, scoring one, and singled in the third, scoring one. 

The Lady Indians scored six runs in the third inning on the way to the victory. Hutto singled, Carson Stowe doubled, scoring one run, Addison Vandal doubled, scoring one, Anniston Young singled, bringing in one, and Macie Davis doubled to bring in two. 

The Lady Indians were first on the board, with a Hutto solo home run to right field. 

Starting pitcher Bailee Shedd earned the win for Stephens County, surrendering two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking four. McKenzie Hooper took the loss for West Hall, going three innings giving up seven runs on eight hits, striking out none and walking one. 

The Lady Indians amassed 10 hits in the game, with Riley Walker and Stowe each collecting multiple hits. The Lady Indians were sure-handed against the Lady Spartans, committing no errors. Davis recorded the most plays, with five. 

The Lady Indians will be on the road again tonight, facing Habersham Central, with first pitch at 6:30 p.m.
