A senior member of the Stephens County High School Track Team will be continuing his education and athletic career in college.

LaShuan Gibbons, son of Christina and Lamar Gibbons Sr., held a signing ceremony Tuesday at the high school to announce his decision to attend Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs.

Gibbons was a member of the Indians track team for 2 years after moving from Philadelphia.  He competed in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles, even though he battled through a hip injury most of his senior season.

Gibbons says he became familiar with Emmanuel University with the help of Indians assistant track coach, Kyle Watson:

Gibbons plans to major in criminal justice and possibly pursue a career in law enforcement.
