SCBC will hold two public hearings at today’s meeting

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet later today for its regular scheduled meeting and work session.

The board will hold two land use public hearings, the first a rezoning request for a property on Clarks Creek Road; the second, is a variance requests for a Gumlog Road property.

In other business, the board will also consider a motion to sign the GEMA/Homeland Security Warning and Communication Grant application.

If the County is awarded the grant, the funds would go towards creating and implementing a county-wide mass notification system.

Also, on the agenda, are budget amendments for FY2020.

Those amendments include changes to the budgets for E911 Communications, Elections, and Tax Assessors.

One other items of significance is the board will consider nominations for two vacancies to the Stephens County Hospital Authority Board.
