SC Planning Commission To Hold Public Hearings Tomorrow

The Stephens County Planning Commission will meet tomorrow, June 4, for a regularly scheduled meeting, and will hold a public hearing on six citizen requests at the beginning of the meeting at 6 p.m.

Included in the public hearings are:

A variance request for a Agricultural Residential zoned property in the 300 block of Old Cannon Road to allow for placement of an accessory structure in the front yard;

A conditional use request for an Agricultural Intensive property in the 1400 block of Oak Valley Road to allow for a Stack House on the property and a variance request on the same property to allow for a 150 foot side setback on the right side of the property instead of the code-stipulated 200 feet;

A variance request on a Commercial General Use-zoned property in the 1400 block of Ridgeland Road, Eastanollee, to allow a 25-foot variance to the required setback for both the left and right side yard, equaling a 0-foot setback;

A variance request on a commercial General use-zoned property in the 2200 block of Mize Road to allow for a lot size of 0.78 acres – less than the code-stipulated 1.5 acres;

A Conditional Use Permit request on a commercial industrial -zoned property in the 100 block of Mize Road to allow use of the property as an event venue.

Following the public hearings, Commission members will discuss the requests and vote on the Commission’s recommendation to the Stephens County Board of Commissioners for each request. The requests will come before the Stephens County Board of Commissioners during the Board’s regular meeting on June 25.

Tomorrow’s Stephens County Planning Commission meeting will take place at the Historic Courthouse, 37 W. Tugalo Street in Toccoa. The meeting is open to the public.
