Rabun County fugitive caught with 40 grams of methamphetamine

A drug arrest in Habersham County, results in the capturing of a Rabun County fugitive.

On Thursday, Jan. 11, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the Appalachian RDEO arrested 20-year-old Cody Ira Harkins of Clayton, Georgia.

Vigilant Deputies, following up on suspicious activity in the area of 5000 Talmadge Drive, in Clarkesville, learned that Harkins was a Rabun County fugitive.

Deputies arrested Harkins on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Rabun; however, subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The estimated value of the meth is approximately $4,000, agents also recovered $606.00 in cash.

Harkins is charged with trafficking meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, and giving false name or date of birth to a law enforcement officer.
