Inaugural Class to Graduate From Toccoa Falls College School of Nursing

20 students make up the first class of TFC’s School of Nursing

A pinning ceremony for the first graduates of the Toccoa Falls College Nursing School will be held next week.

In 2016, Toccoa Falls College was granted initial approval for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program by the Georgia State Board of Nursing

The nursing program at TFC is a four-year program of study that leads to the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing. Groundbreaking for the Fetterman School of Nursing building took place in May 2016 with a ribbon cutting in April 2017 when the doors to the new program opened officially.

20 students make up the inaugural graduates from the Fetterman School of Nursing.

Dean Deborah Alvater tells WNEG News over 60% of the graduating seniors already have jobs in healthcare facilities.

“Numbers don’t begin to tell the story,” she said.  “As pleased as we are that over half of our students have secured employment, it is both exciting and rewarding to witness the mission of the Fetterman School of Nursing being demonstrated in the surrounding local and regional health care facilities.”

Alvater said the Nursing program’s mission is to prepare the next generation of compassionate and highly competent nurses to deliver Christ-centered care.

The first pinning ceremony for the graduates will be held next Tuesday, May 14th, at 6:00 pm in the TFC Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Theater.

Commencement ceremonies will be held Saturday, May 18th, at 10:30 am, also at Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Theater.  Everyone is invited to join us in celebrating these momentous occasions.
