DPH adds to running total of COVID-19 cases in Stephens County

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health has Stephens County with 41 deaths related to Covid-19, and 1,263 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Sunday afternoon.

The latest report has Habersham County with 77 deaths, and now 1,869 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, DPH is reporting 16 deaths in Hart County and 573 cases, Rabun County is still  reporting 11 deaths and 425 cases, Banks County is still reporting 8 deaths and 552 cases, and Franklin County with 919 total positive cases and 17 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 350,923 cases, of those, 31,068 have been hospitalized and 7,809 have died from complications of the virus.

The Stephens County School System has released the weekly Covid-19 report with promising results.

For the week ending October 23rd:

0 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

0 staff members quarantined.

11 students quarantined at home.

1 positive student.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent current active cases as of 10/23/20. The numbers are not a running total.
