Citizens urged to participate in cleaning up littered areas in Toccoa

Citizens are being asked to form teams this week to clean up parts of Toccoa.

As WNEG News previously reported, both the Stephens County Board of Commissioners and Toccoa City Commission have signed proclamation declaring April as Community-Wide Beautification and Clean-up Month.

Part of this initiative includes a financial incentive for community members who form teams to clean up the 12 most littered areas in Toccoa-Stephens County.

During the recent Toccoa City Commission meeting, Fry encouraged the public to form teams and sign-up for one of the 12 areas.

The list of roads people can sign-up to clean include: Avon Street, Boulevard/Beechwood, Broad Street, Collier Road, Collins Road, Edwards Street, Fernside Drive/Ayers Creek, King Street, N. Pond Street, Peachtree Street, Prather Bridge Road/Jail, Roselane/Skyline Drive, and Rothell Road.

The final event for the Clean-up month will be the Stephens County Amnesty Day on April 23.

Again, the city is asking anyone interested in forming a team to come to Toccoa City Hall this week to sign up.
