Advance In Person Voting to Continue This Week

This past Saturday, May 10, a total of 76 residents cast their ballot at the Stephen County Historic Courthouse, bridging the total of in-person votes to 1,895 after two weeks of Advance In Person voting for the May 21 elections. A total of 309 absentee ballots have been requested and mailed out, and so far, 187 have been filled out and returned. There is one provisional ballot. 

Advance, in-person voting will continue through Friday May 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Election Day voting will be May 21 at the Stephens County Historic Courthouse, located at 37 W. Tugalo Street in Toccoa, Georgia, from 7:00 to 7:00 pm.   All voting will take place at the Courthouse, there are no other polling locations in Stephens County. The Senior Center will Not be used as a polling location. 

Also, the Stephens County Board of Elections has published the required notice that the board wil meet on Tuesday, May 21, beginning at 8:00 a.m., and will remain in session until the completion of their duties for the May 21 General Primary/Nonpartisan and City of Avalon Special election. This meeting will take place in the Historic Courthouse located at 37 West Tugalo Street Toccoa and includes the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the May 21 General Primary/Nonpartisan and Avalon Special elections, will take place in the Historic Courthouse located at 37 West Tugalo Street Toccoa. 

The Board is also scheduled to meet for a special called meeting on Friday, May 24, at 5:30 p.m. to certify the May 21 General Primary/Non Partisan & City of Avalon Special Election Results.
