The Stephens County Middle School Rebels Football Team started their season with a win on the road last Thursday. The Rebels defeated the Franklin County Cubs on a 65 yard touchdown run by Kaiden Harbin with about two minutes to go in the game. 

Harbin also scored the 2-point conversion run to help Stephens County win over the two time Middle School Region Champs, 8-6.  

Harbin finished the game with 111 yards of the Rebels’ 136 total yards in the game. Coach Matt Miller said his defense played a great game, led by linebacker Karunte Riley with 11 tackles, nose guard Seth Fulbright with seven tackles, cornerback Khavion Thomas with six tackles, and defensive end David Hernandez with five tackles. 

The Rebels next game will be against Habersham. The game, originally scheduled for Thursday, will be played tomorrow, Aug. 21, at Raider Stadium with kickoff at 6 p.m.
