Units respond to wreck with entrapment near Tom Arrendale Interchange

Shortly after noon Last Thursday, May 9, Habersham County Emergency Services and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle wreck with entrapment near Tom Arrendale Interchange on Ga. 365 / U.S. 441, impacting area traffic for more than 2 hours. 

According to Georgia State Patrol reports, a 2008 Ford Focus Sedan was traveling south on the GA 365 Southbound onramp.  The Ford Focus was traveling too fast for the conditions of the roadway and the Ford Focus sedan traveled off the right shoulder. The Ford Focus sedan then struck several work zone cones, a guardrail, and then struck a tree.

The driver, Jenny Beth Parker, 43, of Cornelia, was able to get out of the vehicle,  but the passengers, Angelina Brock, 54, of Toccoa, and Kimberly McCloskey, 53, of Cornelia, had to be extracted by the Habersham County Fire Department due to being trapped inside the vehicle.

According to GSP reports, all occupants were injured with non-life-threatening injuries, but only McClosky was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Parker was charged with Too Fast for Conditions, which were impacted by heavy rains,  and Failure to update address on license.
