Stephens County Registrar announces key dates for upcoming runoff election

Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober has released some key dates for voters in Stephens County.

She says Advance Voting will begin on December 14, and run Monday through Friday, through December 23 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

On December 24th and 25th, the Registrar’s Office will be closed for the Christmas Holiday.

Gober says early voting will pick back up on December 28 and run through December 31 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Registrar’s Office will also be closed on January 1, 2021, for the New Year’s Holiday.

Gober says December 7, 2020 is the last day a person can register to vote and be eligible to vote in the January 5th General runoff election.

Registered voters who voted by Absentee Ballot during the November 3rd election should receive an absentee ballot for the runoff election in the coming days.

Gober says her office has already mailed out absentee ballots for those voters.

If you would like to vote by absentee ballot and did not vote absentee during the last election you can call the Registrar’s Office to request an application for one.

There are three races on the ballot for the upcoming runoff election.

Those include: For United States Senate, Incumbent Republican David A. Perdue is vying against Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff; For United States Senate, to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson, Incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler is vying against Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock; and For Public Service Commission, Incumbent Lauren Bubba McDonald, Jr. is vying against Democratic candidate Daniel Blackman.
