Latest Stephens County Schools and Area Covid-19 Numbers

The Stephens County School System has released the weekly Covid-19 report with promising results.

For the week ending October 23rd:

0 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

0 staff members quarantined.

11 students quarantined at home.

1 positive student.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent current active cases as of 10/23/20. The numbers are not a running total.

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health has Stephens County with 41 deaths related to Covid-19, and 1,262 positive cases of the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 75 deaths, and now 1,861 total positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County shows 25 more cases since Thursday and now a total of 887 total positive cases and 17 deaths.  DPH is reporting 16 deaths in Hart County and 566 cases, Rabun County is still  reporting 11 deaths and now 420 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 8 deaths and now 549 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 347,759 cases, of those, 30,949 have been hospitalized and 7,766 have died from complications of the virus.
