SCBC sets date for Amnesty Day event

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners set the date for its Amnesty Day event in Toccoa-Stephens County during its meeting Tuesday.

Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful in conjunction with Stephens County, will hold the Amnesty Day Celebration on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

The Amnesty Day event is open to every resident of Stephens County, and provides a way to dispose of any junk that may be cluttering the streets, yards, and homes in the county.

The Amnesty Day event is held at the Stephens County Road Department, located at 1587 Scenic Drive, in Toccoa, and will begin at 8 a.m.

During the meeting on Tuesday, County Administrator Phyllis Ayers, reminded residents that no tires, liquids or commercial construction materials will be accepted during the event.

Like other amnesty day events, Stephens County Amnesty Day is only for residents of Stephens County, officials will be on site, checking vehicle tags at the entrance.

If you have an out-of-town tag, to prove your residency please bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, and your driver’s license or ID with your Stephens County Address.
