Indians Roll at Rabun

The Stephens County Indians baseball team banged out 13 hits and took advantage of 5 Rabun County errors to roll to a 13-2 win over the Wildcats in Tiger on Wednesday night.

The Indians scored two runs in the 2nd inning, one in the 3rd, three in the 4th, two in the 6th, and 5 in the 7th with 8 of the 13 hits coming in the 6th and 7th innings.

Jordan Page led the Indians attack with 3 hits, including two doubles, and two RBI’s. Isaiah Martin had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, and Cole Snyder had a double and 2 RBI’s. The Indians also got RBI’s from Ridge Adams, Josh Henshaw, Ian Rumsey, and Seth Jamieson. Page scored 3 times for the Indians, Adams, Snyder, and Rumsey each scored twice, and Martin, Henshaw, Eli Wenger, and Rob Fulbright (running for Henshaw) scored a single run each.

Cruz Mullinix started the game and went 2 and a 1/3 innings allowing only 1 run on 2 hits. Carson Worley got the win going 4 and 1/3 innings and allowing only one run on 5 hits and striking out six. Page got the final out of the game for the Indians.

Clint Green took the loss for the Wildcats, and Gunnar Stockton had 3 hits to lead the offense for Rabun County now 0-6 on the season.

Stephens County improves to 4-4 on the season and will host Franklin County in a doubleheader on Friday. Airtime is 4:45 P.M. with first pitch of game one scheduled for 5 P.M. on WNEG.
