Toccoa man behind bars after traffic stop results in discovery of drugs, gun

A Toccoa man has been arrested after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of drugs and a gun.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on December 7, a traffic stop was conducted on Big A Road that lead to a felony drug arrest with a gun.

Officers were working concentrated patrols on Big A Road when they observed a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with partial lights out.

While officers were speaking with the occupants of the vehicle they determined that drugs were in the vehicle.

The passenger admitted to possessing the drugs and told the officers he was also in possession of a 9 mm handgun.

A search of his person revealed the handgun and located in the vehicle was over 2 ounces of marijuana, scales and baggies.

Jahavin Spencer, 25, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
