DNR asking for public’s help in identifying person responsible for hit-and-run boat incident

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Game Wardens are asking for the public helps in identifying the person responsible for a hit-and-run boat incident that occurred last week on Lake Burton.

According to the DNR the accident occurred just south of Governor’s Cove on Lake Burton between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

The incident involved a 29-year-old female who was swimming near her family’s boathouse behind a home on Kubler Lane when she was struck by a passing boat, causing injuries to her arm and head.

A deck boat in the area heard her cries for help, called 911 and rendered aid until an ambulance arrived.

The Game Wardens investigating the incident would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the incident or can provide a description of the vessel or any information on individuals involved, and/or any other potentially relevant details.
