25 Indian football players invited to ‘Play Football High School Day’ at the Super Bowl Experience

The Stephens County Indians football team has been chosen to participate in “Play Football High School Day” at the Super Bowl Experience, a massive, interactive football theme park at the Georgia World Congress Center being held in conjunction with the Super Bowl this week in Atlanta.  25 members of the Indians football team will join other players from 14 other teams this Friday to go through 2 hours of intense football training exercises conducted by current and former players.  At the same time, members of the coaching staff will learn from past and current NFL all-stars during the NFL Hall of Fame Coaching Symposium.  Later, the team and coaches will get to tour the Super Bowl Experience theme park.

Stephens County football coach Wesley Tankersley told how the Indians were selected to go–one of only 15 teams statewide.

“At the beginning of January I received an email about the Play Football High School Day and so I wrote a letter and explained to them how this was my first year at Stephens County and that this would really get everyone excited for next season, and then about a week later I received a letter saying that we were chosen,” he said.

Only 25 players are allowed to go, and Coach Tankersley says seniority and grades helped to determined who got to attend

Coach Tankersley and the Indians say a big thanks to the Atlanta Falcons and the NFL for making this experience possible.
