Weekend dispute ends with shots fired, no one hurt

On Saturday evening, September 1, officers with the Toccoa Police Department responded to South Pond Street, in reference to a dispute between two males.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, around 9:00 p.m. his officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Pond St. where the altercation had taken place.

On arrival, witnesses told officers that during the dispute gun shots had been fired; thus, prompting them to call investigators to the scene.

Mize tells WNEG News that no one was injured in the altercation between the two men.

The investigation is currently ongoing and charges could be forthcoming.
