TPD finds drugs during traffic stop, 2 arrested

Two women have been arrested after officers found drugs in their possession.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, officers with his department recently initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle without a working tag light.

After stopping the vehicle, officers were suspicious of the driver and believed her to be under the influence of drugs.

Permission was given to search the vehicle.

While searching, officers found a black bag with a methamphetamine pipe and meth was located in the passenger’s seat.

Two large bags of clear crystal substance were located in the driver’s purse.

In the passenger’s purse, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam were uncovered.

The driver, Vicki Marinell, 47, of Bowersville, Georgia, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute, DUI-Drugs, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance and possession of a Schedule III, IV, or V Controlled Substance.

The passenger, Anita Sue Madden, 59, of Carnesville, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, and Giving False Name, Address, or Birthdate to Law Enforcement Officers.
