5th movie being filmed here in Stephens County

Toccoa-Stephens County is gearing up for the big screen—yet again.

According to Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen, Stephens County is beginning to get quite the reputation in the film industry.

Recently, Paysen told WNEG News about the fifth movie being shot here in Stephens County.

“The name of this movie is going to be ‘When We Last Spoke’ it is based on a book, on the market right now, of the same name,” Paysen said. “We’re excited to see what comes out on the screen with this project they have going on right now. As is, with any film that is made in our community, the investment goes directly into Toccoa-Stephens County. A number of individuals in the past films, around 50 in the cast and crew; and this particular project has upward of 80 or so individuals who are staying in our community, who are having coffee, who are eating lunch, who are spending their extra time in our community, they are also investing in our community. It’s a huge investment.”

When We Last Spoke is a story set in the south in 1966 about a quirky family who’ve had more than their fair share of hard times.

The story is packed with rich characters and reflects the things that matter most – family, friends, love, and forgiveness.

Paysen continued to say that the crew is seeking extras.

“The cast and crew showed up last week and began filming on Wednesday. [They] will [continue filming] through the end of July, in various locations in our community,” Paysen said. “This is another family-friendly movie. They are also looking for volunteer extras. If you are interested [in volunteering] this movie will be filmed in the 60s and also in the 90s, they are looking for extras to be available, adults and children, in various scenes. You can go to [email protected] to inquire further about the dates and specifics of those opportunities.”
