Local Workers Gain Special Certification
A Stephens County industry recognized a group of employees for obtaining a special certification.
North Georgia Technical College recently celebrated the graduation of 13 employees from ASI Southeast of Toccoa, who received a Manufacturing Skill Standards Council Certified Production Technician certification.
The national certification required 72 hours of classes and four modules of training which included safety topics; quality practices and measurements; manufacturing processes and productions; and maintenance awareness.
The following ASI employees received the CPT certification: Bryan Randall, Janice Moss, Doug Looney, Alan Fuller, Daniel Elrod, Brian Ashley, Thomas Cowan, Pam Arowood, Sharlene Whitworth, Derek Cleveland, Joey Dickerson, Stephen Wallace ,and Jacob Segers.
ASI Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Doug Hitchon congratulated the employees on their major accomplishment.
Hitchon said the company applauds their hard work and effort throughout this challenging process.
Meanwhile, North Georgia Technical College Safety Technology Instructor Brad Cagle said these employees worked very hard in and out of class working on and learning the materials, adding that this program exposed them to many new areas and concepts, and noting their attitude and performance was exceptional.
ASI’s graduates represent the second class of students to receive CPT certification from North Georgia Tech.
The first class of students was from Trachte in Toccoa and received their certifications last year.
