2 arrested after complaint leads law enforcement to discover meth, heroin trafficking in Toccoa

A recent complaint leads the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office to the discovery of Methamphetamine and Heroin trafficking in Toccoa.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on November 12, ARDEO arrested Christy Boucher, 28, of Demorest and Willie Gibson, 45, of Toccoa on drug charges.

Boucher has been charged with trafficking heroin and trafficking methamphetamine.

Gibson has been charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.

On November 12, law enforcement officials conducted a knock and talk at the Quality Inn, located on Stephen Circle, in Toccoa.

When officers arrived, they knocked on a hotel room with Boucher and Gibson in the room.

Consent was given to search the hotel room, and the Toccoa Police Department located a large quantity of narcotics.

Officers contacted ARDEO agents who assisted with the investigation.

Law enforcement officials discovered suspected methamphetamine, heron, and marijuana. A total of $935 in cash was located in the room.

The methamphetamine has a street value of $18,200. The heroin has a street value of $6,500 and the marijuana has a street value of $460.

Both Boucher and Gibson were arrested and transported to the Stephens County Jail.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office assisted Toccoa Police Department and ARDEO Agents.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Toccoa Police Department is actively focused on policing the hotel district.
