Track Work Affecting Part of Crescent Line

Track work being performed by Norfolk Southern Railway will affect the Amtrak Crescent line between New Orleans and Atlanta for the following month.

According to Amtrak, on weekdays between now and February 4, the southbound train from New York will stop in Atlanta and the northbound train will start in Atlanta.

Amtrak says on those dates, bus service will be provided for those passengers traveling between Atlanta and New Orleans.

Service will continue on weekdays at the Toccoa stop, where the Crescent stops twice daily, once in the morning as it heads southbound and again in the evening as it heads northbound.

As for weekends, both the northbound and southbound trains will operate on the full length of the Crescent line between New York and New Orleans.

However, those weekend trains may encounter delays along the route due to speed restrictions and freight train interference.

Amtrak says it apologizes for any inconvenience this causes.
