historic plaqueToccoa marks another downtown building with a historic plaque.

Thursday, city officials gathered on North Sage Street at the Urban Barn and West Realty to dedicate the latest downtown historic plaque.

The building was built in 1946 and originally housed Allgood Auto Supply.

It has been home to a variety of businesses over the years and even served as a fallout shelter during the Cold War.

This is the sixth of ten historic plaques in the 2014-2015 series.

The historic plaque program highlights a historic building each month in Toccoa.

Once all plaques have been installed, a walking tour podcast will accompany them to further bring historical awareness to downtown Toccoa.
