Toccoa Resident Graduates From Peace Officer Training

Adam Shirley of Toccoa recently graduated from the 285th session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Athens.

Shirley participated in the 11 week, 408 hours of basic law enforcement training as required to become a certified peace officer in the state of Georgia.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said he is very proud of Adam and expects great things from him, adding that he comes from a good family and has their support as well as the department’s.

Jarrell said that Shirley will now have to complete 12 weeks of field training before he is ready to begin his full-time duties.
