Toccoa Commission To Meet Monday

Toccoa City Commissioners are set to consider approving a new Local Option Sales Tax distribution with Stephens County and the town of Martin at their meeting Monday.

City commissioners are set to meet at 5 p.m. Monday (October 8) at Toccoa City Hall for a regularly scheduled meeting.

Under the agreement being proposed, Stephens County would receive 63.51 percent of the Local Option Sales Tax distribution, while the city of Toccoa would receive 35.26 percent and the town of Martin would receive 1.23 percent.

Stephens County Commissioners are scheduled to consider approval of the same proposal at their meeting Tuesday.

Also on Monday, city commissioners are expected to consider a request to replace nine filter turbidimeters at the water treatment facilities.

The meeting also provides for public comment.
