Toccoa Commission Makes Appointments

Toccoa City Commissioners make a number of appointments at their regularly scheduled meeting.

City commissioners met Monday at Toccoa City Hall.

During the meeting, the city commission unanimously re-appointed Bob Sneed to serve another two-year term as the city’s Municipal Court Judge.

Sneed was initially appointed to the position in December 2012 and began serving as Toccoa Municipal Court Judge in January 2013.

Also, the city commission unanimously re-appointed Mark Fulbright to a three-year term representing the city on the Airport Authority.

Finally, city commissioners made five appointments to the city’s Ethics Panel.

Those appointments, which commissioners approved unanimously, were Thurston Estes, Angie Garland, Gordon Telford, Woody Blasingame, and Peggy Snyder.

According to Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse, the Ethics Panel’s job is to review any ethics-related complaints made against the city commission under Toccoa’s Ethics Ordinance.

In other news from Monday’s city commission meeting, the Toccoa City Commission voted to move its second meeting date in December to December 15th.

Toccoa Mayor Gail Fry says moving that meeting date would move the meeting farther away from the Christmas holiday.
