Toccoa 10U All-Stars Advance in Comeback Win

The Toccoa 10U All-Stars baseball team trailed 6-1 heading to the bottom of the 3rd inning but scored the final nine runs in the game and defeated Hart County by a final score of 10-6 Monday night in Oglethorpe County.

Toccoa scored three runs in the 3rd inning to cut the lead to 6-4, added two more runs in the 4th inning to tie the score at 6, and then scored four runs in the bottom of the 5th inning for the final tally.

The offense was aided by outstanding pitching by Brayden Figueroa. Figueroa was Toccoa’s 3rd pitcher of the night and proceeded to shut down the Hart County offense pitching 3 and 1/3 innings of no-hit shutout ball while striking out six batters.

Rhett Addison led the offense with a bases loaded double in the bottom of the 5th that cleared the bases. Addison went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and a run scored. Ryan Hill, Aiden Ledford, and MJ Dixon each added RBI’s. Hill and Isaac Gibson scored two runs each and Dixon, Addison, Ayden Franco, Bo Miller, Levi Phillips, and Caden Phillips scored runs for Toccoa.

Toccoa will now face the host team Oglethorpe County, a 3-1 winner over Rabun County, tonight at 8:30 P.M. in another elimination game. WNEG will carry the game live on 93.1 FM, AM-630, and at wnegradio.com.

Franklin County and Elbert County will play at 6 P.M. with the winner advancing to the championship round.
