TFC Sports Update

Fall sports are wrapping up at Toccoa Falls College.

The TFC volleyball, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer teams all took part in region tournament play this past week.

Toccoa Falls volleyball was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the region tournament, going 2-2 during the event.

The Screaming Eagles defeated Johnson University of Florida and Trinity Baptist College in straight sets in the tournament, but lost in straight sets to Pensacola Christian College and then Trinity College of Florida to end their season 13-15 overall and 8-4 in the region.

Meanwhile, the TFC men’s soccer team made it to the region finals by defeating Clearwater Christian College 5-4 in penalty kicks following a 1-1 regulation tie.

However, the Screaming Eagles saw their run end in the region final, losing to Trinity Baptist College 3-1.

As for the TFC women’s soccer team, it lost to Clearwater Christian College 2-0 in the region semi-finals.

With fall sports ending, winter sports are starting up at TFC, including basketball.

The TFC women’s basketball team split a road trip last week, losing 64-55 to Welch, then defeating Georgia Northwestern Tech 65-29.

The Screaming Eagle men’s basketball team also opened the season over the weekend, topping Welch College 90-53 and Georgia Northwestern Tech 90-55.

TFC basketball is home tonight against Bob Jones University.
