Stephens Co. School Board Member Jeff Webb Charged with DUI

A police report shows that Stephens County Board of Education member Jeff Webb faces a DUI charge from the Toccoa Police Department.

According to an incident report on file with Toccoa Police, it occurred during the overnight hours of April 21 into April 22.

The report stated that at 11:46 p.m. on April 21, Stephens County dispatch notified the Toccoa Police Department that a man was taking his 88-year-old mother to Stephens County Hospital and that he had called dispatch to alert them that he was doing so.

Then at 1:50 a.m. on April 22, a Toccoa Police Department officer was dispatched to Stephens County Hospital because a male was about to leave with an elderly female and hospital staff believed he was under the influence, according to the report.

In the report, it then stated that the officer arrived and spoke with the man, identified as the 61-year-old Webb, who lives in Toccoa, and a field sobriety evaluation was conducted.

Toccoa Police said following the field sobriety evaluation, Webb was taken to the police department and a breath test was done.

According to police, Webb blew a .096, above the legal limit of .08

Webb was then arrested on a DUI charge, processed, and released on a property bond.

Webb said he wishes to consult with an attorney before commenting on the specific allegations and charges.

He did say that the allegations and events should not reflect on any other Board of Education member.
