Stephens Co. Hospital Renews Employee Health Insurance and Benefits

Stephens County Hospital renews its employee health insurance and other benefits for the year ahead.

Monday, the Stephens County Hospital Authority voted unanimously to renew those policies for another year.

Hospital Administrator Ed Gambrell said the policies expire on April 30 each year.

“We actually are staying with many of the same companies we had this year,” said Gambrell. “We are changing our dental insurance to a different company.”

Gambrell went on to say that those with individual coverage would not see any change in their premiums that they pay this coming year.

However, he said there would be an increase for those with family coverage.

“Most employees are going to see a five percent or less increase,” said Gambrell. “We have made some changes on deductibles and things like that.”

Gambrell said the hospital would be getting all of the necessary information out to employees over the next month or so.

Meanwhile in other news from Monday’s Hospital Authority meeting, the hospital reported that its bottom line for the month of February was a slight loss.
