SCSO Arrests Four Teens in Parking Lot Theft

Four teenagers face charges after authorities say they allegedly entered vehicles in the student parking lot at Stephens County High School.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says that his office arrested 17-year-old Heidi A. Bolding and 18-year-old Michael Marquez Peoples, both of Gainesville, earlier this month, and charged both with theft by taking.

Shirley says that two 16-year-old juveniles were also arrested in connection with the case.

According to the sheriff, deputies were notified by the school resource officer at the high school about a gold sedan occupied by two white females and two black males that had just left the school parking lot after randomly shaking door handles.

The sheriff says the four suspects found one unlocked vehicle, allegedly stole property from inside the vehicle, and then drove away.

Shirley says later that morning, deputies saw a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses at a gas station on Big A Road.

He goes on to say that the four suspects were all there and admitted to the theft after questioning by deputies.

According to the sheriff, the four told deputies that they dumped a book bag and wallet at a gas station in Eastanollee after leaving the high school and taking money, shoes, a shirt, and checks from the bag.

Shirley says deputies went to the gas station in Eastanollee and recovered the items from the trash can, while he says deputies recovered the other items from the suspects’ vehicle.

The sheriff says the victim identified her property and it has all been returned to her.
