SCMS Football Beats Hart Co.

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels’ football team defeated Hart County Saturday night at the Reservation, 28-6.

Stephens County’s A.J. Howard scored the first two touchdowns on runs of 22 and 25 yards.

Hart County scored its only points midway in the second quarter on a 55-yard-run by quarterback Bennie Allen, but the Rebels scored again before halftime on a 60-yard-run by Brandon Wheeler to make the halftime score 22-6.

The only scoring in the second half was a 6-yard touchdown run by Omar Hayes.

The Rebels improve to 3-1 on the season, and will be in action again Thursday as they travel down to Danielsville to play Madison County. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

During halftime ceremonies, Kyletha Walker, daughter of Tammy Walker and Ken Burtch, was crowned homecoming queen.
