SCHS Athletic Booster Club Out Soliciting Donations

The Stephens County High School Athletic Booster Club is out and about on an annual fundraising effort.

Stephens County High School Athletic Director Frank Barden said that the club is currently out raising funds through the sale of advertising and signs.

Barden said all of the funds raised through the booster club’s efforts benefit all sports at the high school.

“It is great to have one booster club to support all of our sports programs,” said Barden. “When a business gives to our athletic program, they are giving to all sports.”

Barden went on to say that the fundraising efforts are very important to funding athletic programs at Stephens County High School.

“Athletics has nothing to do with tax dollars,” said Barden. “We spend no tax money. It is strictly gate receipts and money we raise through our booster club.”

According to Barden, community support is very important to the success of the athletic programs at Stephens County High School.

He said Stephens County has always been very supportive and generous towards the athletic programs at the high school.

“We have a great community that supports us and they are hungry for us to be an ‘A’ program,” said Barden. “That is a driving force for us. We want something in this community they can be proud of.”

He said that he and Stephens County High School appreciate all of the businesses and individuals that provide support to the high school athletic program through booster club donations.
